“The Red Bow”

Precious with large red bowThis is a short story that I wrote for the Start Fiction Writing online course by FutureLearn.com which I completed a few years ago.  The exercise was to write a tale about a woman on a bus who is carrying a dog wearing a red bow.  This was reviewed by a couple of fellow students on that course, and later by an advanced writing class given by Keith Jardim and also by a workshop group with Earl Lovelace, both in 2018.  They all gave valuable feedback on how to improve the plot and my writing.  I’m now ready to present the story to the world, complete with my own illustrations.

This book is a short exploration into aging.
For some of us in our seventies and beyond we ponder upon the choices we have made in life, the roads we have not taken and ask the question ” what if “. Will we end it all or wait for the end? the answer is in the beauty of nature, of hope and gratitude and memories.
